Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 5 – 10 years experience managing revenue generating programs, preferably in a publishing area.
- Must have strong computer skills: spreadsheet and word processing software, familiarity with databases and order fulfillment/customer service/inventory management, meetings registration systems, financial systems, and other management systems tools.
- Strong business and financial management, marketing, customer service, sales/analysis and reporting skills are required.
- Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Essential Functions:
- Negotiate revenue-generating and vendor contracts for publishing program.
- Manage licensing relationships with third-party distributors, service providers, and vendors.
- Negotiate with external business principals for translation rights, electronic and print distribution rights, reseller agreements, and monitor sales, royalties, reporting, and business growth.
- Develop annual budget for publications, track financials and report on progress toward meeting the program's business objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to publishing program business practices.
- Set standards for customer service and monitor practices and procedures to improve API’s customer service and image in the marketplace, working with other special program managers.
- Improve financial performance by decreasing costs and increasing efficiency of operations, sales, and distribution media of API publications worldwide.
- Work with Legal to formulate copyright policies and processes and implement copyright protections for API intellectual property.
- Assist in the development of business plans for new and revised self-supporting programs.
- Assist with other Business Services operations as needed
