Staff Accountant - Financial Operations

 
 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years experience in a financial operations department.
  • Must be proficient in MS-Excel and Great Plains General Ledger system.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Essential Functions:

  • Review of outputs from outsourced accounting service provider, such as account reconciliations, tax returns, cash receipts and disbursements, journal entries and schedules for properly internal controls, and other agreed upon procedures.
  • Maintain chart of accounts.
  • Participate in year-end close and annual financial statement and audit preparation, including annual accrual process.
  • Prepare schedules for audit and audit subcommittee meetings.
  • Coordinate annual corporate insurance renewal and maintain policy information.  Assist Accounting Manager in evaluating special risks with the insurance broker.
  • Participate in preparation of API’s annual corporate tax returns and quarterly lobbying reports.
  • Analyze and record publications royalty activities.
  • Prepare reports, conduct filings, and perform other special projects as needed.
