Web Content Administrator - Media Relations

 
 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications and journalism or a related field.
  • Must have hands on experience working with a CommonSpot or a similar web editing software, knowledge of HTML and an interest in web design and technology.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and graphic presentation.
  • Flash experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for posting content on all sections of api.org and related websites.  Includes the tracking and coordination of key information posted on multiple websites, knowing the source of this information, and ensuring consistent updates.
  • Work cooperatively with Issue Teams and various API departments, including Media Relations, Communications, Information Systems and Creative Services to ensure consistency and timeliness of content on API websites.
  • Create HTML pages in content management system; upload PDFs, multimedia files and other documents.
  • Use page templates, images, and formatting codes correctly and according to API Website Style Guide.
  • Utilize good judgment in deciding presentation of content, image, and page layout.
