Youth Training Academy

Since its inception in 1993, more than 2,500 young people have graduated from the Shell Youth Training Academies taking with them the job skills they need for future success, as well as the high praise of leaders in business and government.

The Shell Youth Training Academy is an innovative and effective school-to-work business and education partnership designed to improve employment opportunities for youth through education and on-the-job training.

The value of the Shell sponsored partnership between business and education and the benefits it delivers to students now and in the future is immeasurable.

The Shell Youth Training Academies have earned national recognition from former President Clinton, former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich, and former U.S. Secretary of Education Richard Riley. They have also been praised as models of corporate responsibility by the public school systems in the cities where they currently operate.

Shell Youth Training Academy students learn practical skills for job market entry along with important life lessons such as trust, determination, care and concern. More than 90 percent of the graduates have furthered their education.
