In an effort to reduce the spread of AIDS in Africa, ExxonMobil is working with local communities to strengthen HIV education and prevention programs. The company joined in a public-private partnership in Angola that supports a variety of community-focused HIV/AIDS education and prevention strategies.
In Chad and Cameroon, programs to prevent and mitigate the effects of HIV/AIDS are part of our World Bank-approved environmental management plan.
In supporting such public health initiatives, ExxonMobil's goal is to work with governments and non-governmental organizations to ensure that the benefits of oil and gas development will contribute to lasting improvements in health status throughout the developing world.
