WASHINGTON, May 27, 2010 – In testimony prepared for today's House Committee on Natural Resources hearing, API President and CEO Jack Gerard called the rig accident in the Gulf of Mexico “tragic and heartbreaking” and pledged to work with the Department of the Interior and others to understand the causes, correct them, and raise the bar on safety for the industry.
