WASHINGTON, September 9, 2009 – API published a new edition of its guide for estimating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The updated API Compendium of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Estimation Methodologies for the Oil and Natural Gas Industry (known as the Compendium) provides oil and natural gas companies with standardized methodologies for estimating carbon dioxide and other GHG emissions from all commonsources, such as combustion, venting, and fugitive, throughout the entire oil and natural gas value chain. Although the methods are aimed at oil and natural gas operations, many have direct applicability to other sectors, especially those pertaining to GHG emissions from combustion sources.
