WASHINGTON, July 12 – API called for an early return to deepwater Gulf drilling in testimony delivered in New Orleans today at the first meeting of the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling. API senior policy advisor Andy Radford told the commission, “we must work to get the Gulf deepwater industry – and the tens of thousands of people it employs – fully up and running again with as little delay as possible.”

WASHINGTON, July 8, 2010 – In a statement prepared for today's U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Hydraulic Fracturing Informational Meeting, API Upstream Senior Policy Advisor Stephanie Meadows said the oil and natural gas industry is “confident that a comprehensive review will confirm what 60 years of experience and investigation have demonstrated -- that the sound application of this technology, following well recognized risk-based decision making principles poses no significant risk to human health, drinking water resources, or the environment.” Ms. Meadows added that the oil and natural gas industry looks forward to providing constructive input throughout the stakeholder process and stand ready to offer our expertise to the Agency as the study progresses.
