PHILADELPHIA, July 26, 2016 – API President and CEO Jack Gerard cited Pennsylvania’s surge in natural gas production as one example of how America’s energy renaissance is transforming communities across the country, creating jobs, and generating revenue for the government.

“Pennsylvania is an example of the progress that our nation has made in energy production thanks to technological advancements in hydraulic fracturing. Producing and using more clean-burning natural gas has contributed to our nation’s global leadership in reducing carbon emissions which are near 20-year lows,” said Gerard. “Moving forward it’s critical to our nation’s success that we pursue energy policies that encourage natural gas production for the benefit of American consumers who saw higher disposable household income in 2015.”
