What does EPA say about water contamination?

The results of a five-year study conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency demonstrate conclusively that safe fracking – and its associated operational components – does not threaten our drinking water.

According to the EPA’s draft report, “We did not find evidence that these mechanisms have led to widespread, systemic impacts on drinking water resources in the United States.”

This news comes as no surprise to the oil and natural gas industry, whose researchers, producers, and engineers have been on the front lines of fracking for more than 65 years. The EPA study shows that the industry is exercising environmental stewardship as it continues to improve the hydraulic fracturing technology that drives America’s energy revolution.
