New polling information that details American voters’ views on energy issues in this election year will be unveiled during an event tomorrow morning hosted by API: “Energy and the Election: What Voters Think.” You can watch the event live, starting at 9 a.m., at www.vote4energy.org.
API President and CEO Jack Gerard will give a briefing on the new survey, which measures registered voters’ opinions on issues including access to energy reserves, the nation’s energy infrastructure needs, tax and regulatory policies and more. Following those remarks, Gerard will be interviewed by E&ETV’s Monica Trauzzi.
The program then shifts to a panel discussion moderated by Trauzzi that features Cornell Belcher, Brilliant Corners Research & Strategies president; Carl Forti, Black Rock Group partner and co-founder; Stefan Hankin, Lincoln Park Strategies founder and president; and Sean M. Spicer, Republican National Committee chief strategist and communications director.
As Campaign 2016 unfolds, Americans’ views on key energy choices should be understood by current and would-be policymakers. Gerard, from a speech earlier this year:
“The collective choices we make this year will play a pivotal role in our nation’s energy future. Because at stake is nothing less than sustained American global energy leadership and with it millions of well-paying jobs, American economic prosperity and national security. … Our central message to the next president, members of Congress, state and federal regulators is straightforward: Energy is fundamental to our society. Thanks to American innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, the United States is the world’s leading producer of oil and natural gas, an unthinkable development just a few years ago. … What we want and what the American people deserve is energy policy that continues our nation’s status as a global energy leader. Future generations deserve nothing less.”
