The Center for American Progress (CAP) has posted a study on its Web site that could be one of the most misleading, stunningly incorrect documents posted online in months. It asserts that U.S. government energy data show "a large portion of the oil produced in the Gulf Coast region is actually exported to other nations..."

Yesterday author, lawyer and blogger Byron King sent me a copy of an article, published in Outstanding Investments newsletter, expressing his thoughts on the tragic loss of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig. Byron writes that the accident "is hitting home" with him. Please say a prayer today for our colleagues who were working on the Deepwater Horizon mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) last night when a fire broke out. According to reports, 126 workers were onboard. In a statement, Transocean reports that a "substantial majority" of the crew members are safe, however several workers were injured and some remain unaccounted for at this time. Search and rescue operations are underway.
