The Center for American Progress (CAP) has posted a study on its Web site that could be one of the most misleading, stunningly incorrect documents posted online in months. The Deepwater Horizon's Macondo oil well in the Gulf of Mexico threw another curve ball at engineers who were hoping to stop the leak with a 100-ton containment chamber this weekend.

Trying to stop the oil leaks in the Gulf is similar to the Apollo 13 mission, Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Thad Allen told the Houston Chronicle yesterday. BP Stops One Leak

BP has stopped one of the three oil leaks caused by the Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico. BP spokesman John Curry said today it's not likely to reduce the amount of oil spilling into the water, but it "does enable to us to make progress, to winnow down the focus from three leaks to two." Americans Continue to Support Offshore Drilling

A new Zogby poll shows that 63 percent of Americans believe offshore energy development should be expanded, despite the Deepwater Horizon tragedy. Interestingly, 62 percent of respondents also said they believe expansion plans should be postponed until the accident's cause is found.
