Amanda Eversole named API Executive Vice President Expanded Role Focused on Strategic Direction and Operational Excellence

WASHINGTON, March 8, 2019 – API President and CEO Mike Sommers today named Amanda Eversole as Executive Vice President. Eversole will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization to support API’s more than 600 members throughout the energy supply chain.  Eversole is leading API’s strategic planning process and will advance a variety of policy initiatives and operational improvements to enable the natural gas and oil industry to continue to innovate, invest and transform the U.S. economy.

“As API marks its 100th anniversary, Amanda’s experience and leadership are critical to positioning our industry to continue to meet growing consumer demand with cleaner, affordable and reliable natural gas and oil for the next century and beyond,” said Sommers. “Amanda is a true partner, strategic thinker and problem solver who has quickly built confidence and trust throughout API and our membership. I’m pleased that she’s agreed to step into this expanded leadership role.”

Eversole joined API last fall as Chief Operating Officer and previously held senior positions at J.P. Morgan Chase and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The industry supports more than ten million U.S. jobs and is backed by a growing grassroots movement of millions of Americans. API was formed in 1919 as a standards-setting organization. In our first 100 years, API has developed more than 700 standards to enhance operational and environmental safety, efficiency and sustainability.
