U.S. sets record for oil production as exports rose and net imports fell in November (includes Q4 industry outlook)

WASHINGTON, December 20, 2018 – Today the American Petroleum Institute’s latest monthly statistical report showed the highest ever monthly production for oil and natural gas liquids  (NGLs). The U.S. produced a record 11.6 million barrels of oil per day (mb/d) and a record 4.8 mb/d of NGLs in November. Crude exports also hit a record high at 2.4 million barrels per day last month, and U.S. petroleum net imports fell at their lowest monthly level in more than 50 years at 2.2 million barrels per day.

Bolstered by a strengthening economy, U.S. sets new record for petroleum demand in October

WASHINGTON, November 16, 2018 – The American Petroleum Institute’s latest monthly statistical report showed U.S. petroleum demand in October was 20.8 million barrels per day (mb/d), the strongest for the month since 2006. The U.S. also set October records for gasoline demand at 9.5 mb/d; refining and petrochemical demand for liquid feedstocks, naphtha, and gasoil at 5.1 mb/d; and, refinery throughput at 16.6 mb/d.

U.S. sets new record for oil production in September meeting virtually all global demand growth

WASHINGTON, October 18, 2018 – The American Petroleum Institute’s latest monthly statistical report shows the U.S. produced a record 11.0 million barrels of crude oil per day (mb/d) in September. U.S. liquid fuels production grew 2.2 mb/d year-over-year (y/y), and the U.S. met virtually all global oil demand growth. As supply increased, crude oil inventories also rose in September but remained nearly 14 percent below those of September 2017.

Record setting U.S. energy production highlights 2018 Q3 energy outlook but energy exports suffer under new trade and tariff policies (includes August monthly statistical report)

WASHINGTON, September 20, 2018 – Today the American Petroleum Institute released its industry outlook for the third quarter of 2018. The report shows the U.S. celebrated another new record for crude oil production of 10.8 million barrels per day (MBD) over the past two months. but U.S. petroleum exports decreased by 1.3 million barrels per day since June. The overall  United States’ petroleum trade balance went from net imports of 2.9 MBD in June to 4.54 MBD in August, which is more than a 56 percent increase in two months.

U.S. sets new record for natural gas liquids production, ties record for crude oil in July

WASHINGTON, August 16, 2018 – The American Petroleum Institute’s latest monthly statistical report shows the U.S. set a record for the production of natural gas liquids (NGL) last month producing 4.4 million barrels per day (mb/d). July also saw the U.S. tie its record for crude oil production at 10.7 mb/d.

June marks highest ever production of U.S. crude oil & natural gas liquids

WASHINGTON, July 19, 2018 – Today, API released its monthly statistical report for June of 2018 highlighting that U.S. production of crude oil and natural gas liquids hit is highest level ever. U.S. petroleum demand sustains its highest levels in 11 years

WASHINGTON, MAY 17, 2018 – Today the American Petroleum Institute reported that the first four months of this year saw U.S. petroleum demand average 750 thousand barrels a day above the same period in 2017 despite higher prices, a sign of solid economic activity. Record U.S. oil production fuels highest demand since 2007

WASHINGTON, APRIL 19, 2018 – Today the American Petroleum Institute reported that U.S. petroleum demand reached 20.6 million barrels per day (MBD) last month, the highest level since 2007. To satisfy demand, domestic refineries utilized 91.5 percent of their capacity – a record for the month of March – and processed 17 MBD of oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The U.S. also produced a record 10.4 MBD of crude oil plus another 3.9 MBD of NGLs.
