Course Summary:

This two-day API Specification 6D 25th Edition transition course will review the new and modified requirements that will be applicable from the effective date of November 1st, 2022 for the products that fall under the scope of API Specification 6D, Specification for Valves.

About the Instructor:

Roberto Lodovichi has over 15 year of industry experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and Reliability. Roberto is an API Qualified Lead auditor since 2013, and is qualified in 40 different product Specs. He has conducted several API audits all around Europe and the Middle East. He has provided end-to-end consultancy and training for Operators and Service companies in several countries including, Italy, Turkey, Kazakhstan. He is an API-U Approved Trainer for API Q1, Q2 and Lead Auditor training. Roberto is a member of API SC6 for Valves and Wellhead and API SC18/TG2 for API Q1, ISO 29001 and ISO 29012 Committee working under the IOGP.

This course offers an overview of the new and modified requirements based on the main paragraph of the Specification, with a special focus on the new critical requirements.

  • Module 1: Introduction, list of changes, 1 Scope, 3 Terms and Abbreviation, 4 Application, Configuration and Performance
  • Module 2: 5 Design and Design Validation (Annex F)
  • Module 3: 6 Materials, including Annex H and including Annex I for QSL; 8 Bolting
  • Module 4: 7 Welding
  • Module 5: 9 Quality Control including Annex I for QSL and 10 FAT
  • Module 6: 11 Coating/Painting, including Annex G; 12 Marking; 13 Draining, Protection and Preparation for Transport; 14 Documentation
