API, INGAA, and AOPL have created a joint survey program to allow pipeline operators to cost-effectively measure the effectiveness of their public awareness programs. PHMSA regulations, which incorporate API RP 1162, Public Awareness Programs for Pipeline Operators, require this. PHMSA has called the program well thought out.
