API’s Training Provider Certification Program is pleased to announce the establishment of process safety training curricula for the following courses: What Is Process Safety, Hazard Recognition, Process Safety Leadership and Conduct of Operations. These are the first three (3) in a series of modules being developed to provide consistent industry approved criteria for process safety training courses.
The new training curricula were established in order to affect a paradigm shift so that personnel will begin thinking of process safety as “a disciplined approach that integrates each employee’s roles and responsibilities with effective management of processes and equipment to improve process safety.”
Training curriculum will be developed for all manufacturing personnel including facility leadership and managers, supervisors and foremen, operations and maintenance technicians, engineers and staff professionals. The training objectives, criteria, content and mode will be tailored to each function in the facility.
