Marathon Corporate Security has established strategic partnerships with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation (Infragard and Awareness of National Security Issues/Response program-ANSIR), ASIS International, Energy Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) and Trade Associations. In addition, Marathon is participating in the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) with Customs & Border Protection and the American Chemistry Council (ACC) Responsible Care® Security Code of Management.
The Texas City, Texas, refinery participates as a member of the Port of Texas City Security Council, Inc and in the USCG Houston-Galveston Sector's Area Maritime Security Committee. The refinery also partners with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in security-related drill exercises and community outreach activities. For example, the refinery participated in the 2009 National Level Exercise and conducted a refinery tour for members of the Texas City Police Department's Citizens Police Academy.
