September 11

ConocoPhillips contributed $4 million to the relief efforts following the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001. Most of the funds went to direct support of immediate as well as long-term needs of victims and their families. ConocoPhillips employees at the Bayway Refinery in Linden, N.J., just 14 miles from Lower Manhattan, donated blood, emergency supplies and gear. Members of the refinery's rescue squad helped evacuate apartment buildings near the World Trade Center, and then helped with tunneling into the collapsed rubble.
