Bird Habitat Protection

ExxonMobil Pipeline Company joined with regulatory agencies to increase habitat for protected coastal birds near the busy Houston Ship Channel in Texas.  Since certification in 2003 by the Wildlife Habitat Council, the ExxonMobil Pipeline Company has shown considerable concern for the nesting habitat of migratory birds near the St. Mary’s island operations in Houston, Texas. ExxonMobil restored a 12-acre for migratory bird habitat. Through partnerships with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service the team successfully recreated habitat for ground colonial birds, upland and wading birds, and estuarine game birds. The team is responsible for managing, monitoring, and upgrading habitat as well as controlling invasive species.
