Recycling Greenhouse Gases to Fertilize Farms

The Farmland Fertilizer plant in Kansas will use proprietary Chevron technology to convert 1,300 tons per day of refinery petroleum coke into feedstock for fertilizer production.

The Chevron gasification technology isolates CO2 and allows its capture more easily than other combustion technologies. At Farmland, about 20 percent of the separated CO2 will be recycled into the fertilizer production process.
