Based in Oklohoma City, Devon Energy is a strong supporter of community organizations and charitable causes in Canada and the U.S. that touch the lives of many.
Youth and education are the foundation for our future, and Devon is a strong supporter of many organizations that are enriching the lives of our youth. Donations to the Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Urban League and the YMCA help provide many underprivileged youth access to programs and services that make a difference in their lives.
Through its support of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, Leadership Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation, Devon is doing its part to enhance the educational opportunities for the youth in and around the Oklahoma City area.
In field locations, local emergency response groups receive donations for needed equipment. Additionally, Devon corporate donations go to civic programs and to youth and education programs to fund scholarships and enhance education efforts such as science fairs and the F.F.A. , and to local United Way agencies and Habitat for Humanity.
In addition to its direct philanthropic support, Devon encourages its employees to become involved in their community through its corporate contributions program. Employees who are interested or involved in a charitable organization or event may present their request to a committee to seek donations and/or volunteers. If the request is granted, the employee is then responsible for organizing the fundraiser from start to finish. This system encourages employees to reach their individual charitable goals and take on a leadership role they may not otherwise have. The reward is that both the employee and a very worthy cause benefit from this program.
