2006 Fall Committee on Petroleum Measurement Standards Meeting

Plan now to attend the API 2006 Fall Committee on Petroleum Measurement (COPM) Standards Meeting, October 9-12, 2006.

The informative program will include:

Several sessions covering topics related to new petroleum measurement issues.

Various standards committee sessions in which experts work toward consensus in the following areas:

  • Evaporative loss estimation 
  • Natural gas
  • fluids measurement

  • quality of hydrocarbons 
  • Liquid measurement of flowing hydrocarbon liquids

  • Opportunities for discussions and networking with other members of your industry.

The deadline for pre-registration is September 25, 2006.  After this date, you may still register for the meeting on-site.

Advance Your Standards

Your participation keeps API standards going strong, and we would like you to share your standards expertise with the next generation.  API invites you to sponsor first-time attendees from your company complimentary at all API 2006 standards meetings.

Complimentary registration is limited to first-time attendees, who must be sponsored and accompanied by a prior API standards meeting participant from the same company.  Pre-registration is required.  All hotel and travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant/attendee.

If you wish to sponsor a first-time attendee, and you are a previous participant at API standards meetings, please complete this Sponsored Attendee section on your Registration Form and return it by September 25, 2006.  You may also register a first-time attendee on your on-line registration form in Cvent if you use the online method to register.  You’ll find the Sponsored Attendee category by clicking on the drop-down box under Guest Information.

Sponsorship/Exhibitor Application and Agreements

Sponsoring or exhibiting at the COPM Standards Meeting is a targeted, cost-effective avenue for connecting with customers that you might not reach otherwise.

The deadline for returning Sponsorship/Exhibitor Applications and Agreements is September 1, 2006.  Sponsorship items requiring artwork should be returned by August 25, 2006.

Hotel Information

Reservations may be made directly with the Westin Westminster by calling 303-410-5000 no later than 5:00 pm, local time at the hotel.  The cut-off date for making reservations is September 8, 2006.

Please mention the API 2006 Fall Committee on Petroleum Standards Meeting to receive the group rate of $169 single or double occupancy, plus applicable state and local tax, currently 12.60%.  After September 8, 2006, hotel reservations will be accepted on a space available basis at the group rate.

You may also make hotel reservations on-line.

Note:  However you choose to make reservations, it is suggested that you make them as quickly as possible.  This should be done by the cut-off date.  If your plans change, you may adjust your reservations accordingly.  If the API block and/or hotel are sold out, you might not be able to get a room.

Spouse/Guest Program

Breakfasts will be provided Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings, 8:00 am - 10:00 am for registered spouses.  In addition to the breakfasts, other activities are being planned.  See the Spouse/Guest Activity form below for more details.

The fee for spouses and guests to participate is $125.  If you plan to bring a spouse or guest, please provide information in Cvent or on your written registration form.  You are also asked to complete and fax this Spouse/Guest Activity Form to Arnetta Smith at 202-682-8222 by September 25, 2006.
