WASHINGTON, January 18, 2007 - U.S. API President and CEO Red Cavaney urged Congress to take a measured approach to energy policy. Cavaney told the “State of the Energy Industry” forum, sponsored by the United States Energy Association, that “it is better to get energy policy right than to get it fast but potentially harmful." He also said that the “long lead-times, massive investments, and enormous scale of operations mean government decisions on energy policy can have a profound impact in shaping future energy circumstances.”
