WASHINGTON, June 9, 2010 – In testimony prepared for today's House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing, API President and CEO Jack Gerard explained the details of the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund, considered “one of the most important mechanisms we have to address liability and financial responsibility for oil spills.” Mr. Gerard pledged to work with Congress and the administration to quickly develop and provide recommendations on how to effectively address liability limits and financial responsibility requirements for offshore exploration activities.
