EPA Decides to Release E-15 Fuel Before CRC Testing Completed

The attached documents point out why EPA's decision was premature.Introduction of a new transportation fuel requires comprehensive testing to ensure that there are no adverse effects on performance, safety, and the environment. There is extensive vehicle, engine and infrastructure testing underway, most of which will be completed by early to mid-2011. This multiyear, multimillion dollar research program began in 2008 and has been funded by the Federal Government, the oil industry, and the auto industry (through the Coordinating Research Council CRC). EPA should not have ignored this testing, especially since the preliminary results from some of the CRC testing have indicated there could be problems with some vehicles.
