Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System (EOLCS)

API’s Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System (EOLCS) is a voluntary licensing and certification program that authorizes engine oil marketers who meet specified requirements to use the API Engine Oil Quality Marks.

API's Engine Oil Quality Marks—the API Service Symbol "Donut" and Certification Mark "Starburst"—help consumers identify quality engine oils for their gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles.

35th API Automotive/Petroleum Industry Forum

API held its 35th Automotive/Petroleum Industry Forum on April 22 in Dearborn, Michigan. With the theme “A Changing Climate,” the forum featured eight speakers delivering presentations on topics of importance to the automotive and petroleum industries. The event included keynote speeches from S. Shariq Yousfzai, President, Global Marketing, Chevron Corporation; David Cole, President, Center for Automotive Research; and Bob Lutz, Vice-Chairman, Product Development, General Motors.
