Colorado Petroleum Council Executive Director Tracee Bentley Responds to Governor Hickenlooper’s Executive Order on Orphaned Wells

DENVER, July 18, 2018 – Colorado Petroleum Council Executive Director Tracee Bentley issued the following statement today in response to Governor John Hickenlooper’s Executive Order:

“We appreciate Governor Hickenlooper’s collaboration with Colorado’s natural gas and oil industry to enact long-term solutions to this and any such issues facing our state. Our industry is fully committed to operating under the highest standards when it comes to environmental protection and we welcome the Governor’s directive today.

“Our industry shares an interest with the state to safely and effectively develop Colorado’s abundant natural resources. We look forward to working with the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission in the weeks and months to come to help implement these important regulatory changes.”
