API Says Infrastructure Development and Permitting Reform Will Get People Back to Work, Revitalize Local Economies

WASHINGTON, June 4, 2020—API issued the following statement responding to a new Executive Order on "Accelerating the Nation’s Economic Recovery from the COVID-19 Emergency by Expediting Infrastructure Investments."

“Maintenance of our ports and waterways and moving forward on shovel-ready projects will be key in getting people back to work and revitalizing local economies. An efficient permitting process is critical to making new job opportunities a reality and advancing infrastructure development for industries across the economy,” said Vice President of Midstream and Industry Operations Robin Rorick. “We are in an unprecedented time, and getting energy infrastructure projects approved and moving will go a long way in re-starting our economy while creating well-paying, middle-class sustaining jobs.”
