HARRISBURG, PA, October 2, 2024 – This week, as candidates for president and vice president continue making stops in the Keystone State, the American Petroleum Institute (API) released new polling showing nearly 9 in 10 voters in Pennsylvania and six other key battleground states are looking for details from presidential candidates on energy issues.
"The importance of American energy is not lost on Pennsylvania voters,” API Pennsylvania Executive Director Stephanie Catarino Wissman said. “The natural gas and oil produced here in Pennsylvania is playing a critical role in fueling our economy while helping to ensure the U.S. can continue to serve as the world’s energy leader and a stabilizing force at a time of geopolitical turmoil. As we approach Election Day, voters deserve to know where candidates stand not only on fracking, but on the policies needed to secure America’s hard-earned energy advantage for decades to come.”
The poll conducted by Morning Consult also found that 9 in 10 Pennsylvania and other battleground state voters are concerned about inflation and more than 4 in 5 voters agree producing more natural gas and oil here in the U.S. could help lower energy costs for American consumers.
