WASHINGTON, January 20, 2025 – American Petroleum Institute (API) President and CEO Mike Sommers issued the following statement congratulating President Trump and Vice President Vance on their inauguration as the 47th President and 50th Vice President of the United States. 

“Congratulations to President Trump and Vice President Vance on their inauguration. The U.S. oil and natural gas industry stands ready to work with the new administration to deliver the commonsense energy solutions Americans voted for. By fully harnessing our nation’s abundant oil and natural gas resources, we can restore American energy dominance, drive economic prosperity and secure U.S. leadership on the global stage.”
