API Applauds House Energy and Commerce Committee Passage of Budget Reconciliation Bill

WASHINGTON, May 14, 2025 – American Petroleum Institute (API) President and CEO Mike Sommers issued the following statement after the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved its portion of the budget reconciliation bill:
 
“We applaud Chairman Brett Guthrie and the House Energy and Commerce Committee for advancing legislation to ensure a smart regulatory framework for expanded American energy development. We look forward to working with Congress to pass these critical provisions and are hopeful that the final package includes the permanent repeal of the punitive ‘methane fee.’”
