WASHINGTON, June 16, 2025 — American Petroleum Institute (API) Vice President of Upstream Holly Hopkins issued the following statement after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced a proposal to renew and revise existing nationwide permits.
“Nationwide Permits are essential to building critical infrastructure across the economy and meeting our nation’s growing energy needs. By providing greater regulatory certainty, these permits help encourage investment while helping to prevent unnecessary costs and project delays. Renewing this critical program is an essential step in fixing our nation’s broken permitting system, and we look forward to working with the administration to finalize this rule.”
