An important part of crane safety is proper training of inspectors. This multi day training course incorporates the requirements of API RP 2D-2, which includes the topics on crane maintenance, troubleshooting, inspecting, and JSAs/JSEAs. Classroom-type sessions with written and practical exercise examinations on the type of crane to be inspected by the qualified crane inspector are included in this course. Classroom-type sessions and examinations covers all major crane components; the operational and maintenance procedures appropriate for the type and rated capacity of crane to be operated; and all major issues and guidelines addressed in this document.

The course also covers hoist overhaul and troubleshooting, structural aspects of offshore cranes, knowledge of structural critical components inspection area’s and applicable local regulatory requirements. Successful completion of the course is demonstrated proficiency of the material through a written examination.
