Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand API Spec 5L and it's role in global pipeline standards. 
  • Discuss each section and annex to clarify requirements and technical specifications. 
  • Explain the difference between PSL 1 and PSL 2 and their impact on material selection and pipeline integrity. 
  • Analyze the chemical, mechanical, and dimensional requirements for API 5L pipes. 
  • Understand testing and inspection methods, including NDT, hydrostatic, and mechanical testing.
  • Examine service-specific requirements. 
  • Interpret addenda, errata, and modification to API Spec 5L for compliance with current industry standards.
