WASHINGTON, November 12, 2014 ─ API President and CEO Jack Gerard strongly supports the latest bipartisan Senate effort to get the Keystone XL pipeline approved.

“The bipartisan Senate legislation to approve KXL reflects the will of the American people," said Gerard. "Just last week, nearly 75 percent of voters said they wanted the pipeline built. The project continues to enjoy strong bipartisan support, because six years of federal reviews have all concluded the project is environmentally sound, a boon for job creation, and a net benefit to our economy.

"Enhancing our nation's energy security through the construction of a critical infrastructure project should be a no brainer. We applaud Congress's bipartisan leadership and hope President Obama will see this as an opportunity to work with Congress on a bipartisan basis for our country's future.”
